Discover the island of Port-Cros, French Riviera

The island of Port-Cros is the wildest of the Golden Islands, off the Var coast. A true natural sanctuary, classified as a National Park, it is home to a huge number of animal and plant species. The island is closed to all traffic, including cyclists.
Port Cros is the ideal place for families to spend their summer holidays on the French Riviera. The island is full of beautiful beaches and plenty of opportunities for children to explore. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in France, so you can enjoy your time on the sand or in the water. There are also a number of cycling routes that you can take around the island.

Family walks in Port Cros

The island of Port-Cros is renowned for its many hiking trails. In all, there are 30km of waymarked paths, most of which you can hike with your family.

You’ll be able to enjoy exceptional views over the Mediterranean and observe the green paradise of the island of Port-Cros. You’ll also discover that this small island has a military past, with several fortresses still firmly anchored on rocky outcrops.

Marvel at the natural treasures of the Grande Bleue

The island of Port-Cros also has some very pretty little beaches, wild and unspoilt, where you can enjoy the pleasures of swimming with your family in perfectly clear waters. Here, children will have the chance to marvel at the many fish swimming right at their feet.

If you’d like to try your hand at a family water excursion to discover the seabed, that’s also possible! Just head to La Palud with your masks, flippers and snorkels. An underwater trail with underwater information panels awaits you. If you prefer, you can discover the underwater riches of the island of Port-Cros, effortlessly, from a boat specially fitted out to see underwater: the Aquascope.

Disembarking on the wildest and most hilly of the Hyères islands, Port-Cros, is an immediate change of scenery.
